Green Tomato Chutney (Spicy)
Method Pour boiling water over the tomatoes, peel and slice. Lay slices in a dish in layers sprinkling with salt as you do so. Leave over night. Put vinegar sugar, onions (peeled and chopped) and roughly crushed spices into preserving pan and bring to the boil. Drain tomatoes and peel and core the apples, add both to the pan. Simmer until soft, taste and adjust the seasoning. Allow to cool, ready in a week. |
